Zoe-perry

Perry was born to actor Laurie Metcalf, and Jeff Perry. She first appeared on television as Jackie Harris, a character played by her mother in Roseanne, an ABC comedy Roseanne. She was not allowed to act by her parents until she reached the age of adulthood because they were afraid of the anxiety it could cause. Perry stated that she was too nervous to be an actor during high school, but started playing in the theater at Northwestern University as a way to connect with people following her transfer from Boston University. Perry when she graduated from Boston University, relocating into New York in search of acting roles on television. Perry was able to land small roles in shows like Law & Order: Criminal Intent. Then, homelessness led her to California to pursue theater opportunities. Her mother and she appeared on Broadway together in The Other Place, in 2013. The show featured her father Kevin McKidd and Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize winning drama Anna Christie in 2015 in the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble, West Los Angeles. Perry appeared in 9 episodes on ABC's drama The Family during 2016. In 2017, she had a minor role on ABC's thriller about politics Scandal in which her father was the main character. Also in 2017, she appeared as a child-like model of Mary Cooper on Young Sheldon (a CBS spinoff The Big Bang Theory) playing her mother in a younger version. The role was given by audition in spite of the fact that there is a connection between her family to the character.
